Fighting the Virus. Defence Lemonade

It's essential to stay well hydrated during the summertime, especially during the virus pandemic.

In this article, you will find a recipe for an easy and affordable Defence Lemonade, a great help to stay healthy. 

Defence Lemonade Recipe

 For one big glass of the drink, you need the following:

  • Lemon - 1/2 if it's small and 1/4 if it's
  • Ginger powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Black pepper - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Clove ( optional) - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Drinkable water ( 2,5 dl/ 10 U.S. cups)
  • A teapot

Preparation of the Defence Lemonade


1. Take half a small lemon or a quarter of a large one.

2. Chop the lemon on the more delicate parts.

3. Put the lemon's slices and spices in the teapot ( Pic.3)

4. Boil water in the kettle and leave it to cool for 5 minutes ( the temperature of the water must be bellow 100°C / 212° F).

5. Pour the lemon and spices with the hot water (Pic 4).

6. Let it brew for 5 minutes ( Pic. 4).

7. Pour into a glass  (Pic. 5).

1. Why Lemon?
Lemon is high in vitamin C, fibre, and various beneficial plant compounds.

2. Why Ginger?
Ginger powder has potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant effects. 

3. Why Turmeric?
Curcumin, a component of turmeric has been found effective against several life-threatening viral infections.

4. Why Black Pepper?
Black pepper contains the bioactive compound piperine, which, besides other health benefits, has anti-inflammatory properties.
However, the most significant benefit is the ability to boost the absorption of curcumin.

5. Why Clove?
Clove powder is high in antioxidants and can kill bacteria.
Discard clove if you have high blood pressure.



A Hint: 


  • You can refill the teapot at least twice. 
  • And why not eat the "cooked" lemon mixing it with honey and get an extra C-vitamin!
