Do children choose their parents?
This is another noteworthy question on Quora:
"Children claim that they chose their parents when they talk about reincarnation. If we get to choose our parents, why do some of us choose bad parents?"

I assume that if the choice of parents is given, then this choice is very limited. In other words, a soul may have such conditions that it chooses a lesser evil from a group of greater ones.
We must also remember that, under the influence of the Universal Law of Karma, we have a very limited choice of a future life. For example, a student who goes to school cannot change the curriculum or teachers at school, but he might have some limited choice of subjects to study.
We also have to be aware, that young human souls coming from the animal world do not have any choice for the future conditions of their lives as their consciousness is very low.
Of course, the higher the consciousness, the more difficult challenges a soul can overcome, and one can choose bad parents to teach them a lesson. However, I think this is a very rare case.
Irina Nola, past life regression therapist, explains the karmic aspect of relationships very well when answering this question.
There are a lot of reasons why a soul can chose ‘difficult” or ‘nightmarish” parents:
- Karmic debt, karmic relationship. We see a lot of situations in past life regression when a soul who was your murderer in past life become a parent in this life. Contrary to the ‘karmic punishment” idea, karma works in mysterious ways, and somebody who killed you in a past life can be your parent in the next life - “Taking life-giving life” as balancing karma” They have to take care of you as a kid and later, typically these are really bad relationships, often abusive, and the only connection with this parent is that they killed you in a past life and paying you back by spending time and money on you, and 9 months of pregnancy and breastfeeding for a woman.
- There is no deep Soulmate connection here, they create your body and feed you till you can finally get the heck out of their house. They can also abuse you pretty badly as a child since these are usually very low-level souls, without a high sense of morality or empathy. In a sense - you agreed to this to help THEM to balance their karma…
- Another ‘karmic debt” possibility (less violent) is one one soul sacrifised their life or well-being for another person - say, you shielded them with your body in some battle, or took care of them for years as a youngest daughter, who never married after taking care of her parent, basically one of you did something for another way beyond ‘fair trade” - so a karmic debt was created.

How does real-life karma work, and why does it affect some people but not others?
This is another major lighting theme that appeared on Quora.
Why is it important? Because some young souls may mistakenly think that everything is permitted and that there is no punishment for crimes.
So how does karma work in real life and why does it affect some people but not others?
Short answer
Karma only works for souls with Free Will.
FREE WILLKarma does not work for souls without Free Will.

All young souls incarnating in a human body receive a precious gift from our Creator1 — Free Will.

Having this gift, they can choose the Spiritual Direction of their movement - towards Light2 or towards Darkness3. There is also a sub-direction - Degradation, which is the worst case scenario and should be avoided.
The Universal Law of Karma (karma for short), like any Law, helps people correct their mistakes and move on.
Because most young souls are unwilling to study voluntarily, they are forced into what we would call punishment.
If the soul does not learn well and continues to make the same mistakes, the punishment will be tougher. At the same time, by the Universal Laws of Change and Evolution, it will be given the Choice of a further direction towards Light or Darkness.
In the case of the Choice of Light, which is more challenging than the Choice of Darkness, the soul will receive a renewal of its consciousness and "automatically" gain an understanding of what has been done wrong in the past. In other words, the person will receive a vision to voluntarily correct his/her mistakes.
Brad Anderson in his movie The Machinist (2004) skillfully described the mechanism of karma for a soul moving towards Light. Find my review of the movie.

However, in the case, if the soul will choose a direction toward Darkness, its consciousness will be brutalized and it will continue to develop its bad doings further, i.e. will become more skillful in "bad" deeds.
The Head of Darkness, Satan, is especially attentive to all those who have a tendency to constantly choose Darkness. Satan is the direct beneficiary of the soul's choice in favor of Darkness, as it receives a potential member of its Hierarchy.
But how practically Satan will drag the soul into His pool?
To catch the prey tightly Satan drops some earthly treasures in front of his prey. At this stage, the goal of the Head of Darkness is to make the soul become addicted. Whether, it's drugs, money, power, sex, etc. Everything goes.
However, even with the number of addictions, but with Free Will in hand, the person still has a chance to turn to the Light. Therefore, Satan's goal is to take this Will away from the soul.
At some point, a strongly addicted soul becomes so weak that it is unable to resist the next temptation of Satan and gives up its Free Will for the sake of another treasure. Now, this soul is fully belongs to Satan and Satan's Will.
The soul still keeps its personality, but feels, that a "someone" or "something" beyond his own intentions pushes him/ her for doings.
As the soul doesn't have its own Will and follows orders of Satan it doesn't have any Karma anymore.
Therefore, from the outside it seems that the person who does evil to another does not bear any punishment.
Another group of souls without affect by karma are mature souls - missionaries. They made their Final Choice towards Darkness long time ago. They incarnate in the materialistic worlds like our Earth on the order of Satan. They move in the physical reality fast, without hesitation and thinking.
Summary
1. Karma works for souls moving towards Light, i.e. having Free Will. If they make a mistake they have to fix it
2. Karma doesn't work for souls that made their final Spiritual Choice towards Darkness, i.e. who lost Free Will. As the soul doesn't make any decisions, there is no punishment for its doings.

I’m really scared of reincarnation. I’m worried that I will be reborn as a prey animal.
I’m worried that I will be reborn as a prey animal, farm animal, or a new human, with no memory/experiences of me. Do you fear this?
Tom T Moore excellently answered this question on Quora (see below).
"You will not reincarnate as an animal. That option only happens when your soul is ready to begin living on Earth but would like to “get the feel” of Earth. In my case, I incarnated as a panther, before my first life as a human living in a jungle. After that, it is always as a human.
It may seem like you are a “new human,” as our souls agreed to be veiled from knowing about our past lives as part of what is called the “Earth Experiment.”
All of our souls volunteered to be veiled in all of our lives on Earth. Why? Because several million years from now, our souls will merge into a creator and take over running this universe, allowing Creator to go to a higher level. Creator will not turn over this universe to us until Creator is sure we can handle the work. But we have to learn how to make trillions of decisions a second, which is what we are collectively doing during our lives on Earth.
We are only fragments of our souls, which are having 500,000 to over 1,000,000 lives across the universe at the same time to learn about all the life forms that exist on the trillions of planets. We are having 600 to 800 lives on Earth for each fragment.
Each fragment is given a different soul interest. As an example, my soul's interest is in religions and advising world leaders (the latter not in this life), while another soul fragment in my “cluster” of eight fragments has a soul interest in exploration and designing and laying out towns and cities..."

From my side I'd like to add, that reincarnation is not a thing to be afraid of as it's only a way for humans to move forward on the Evolutionary path. But what you have to be aware of is the Universal Law of Karma, which says that each action has its consequences.
In other words, if you do mostly good deeds, the collective consequence for you will be positive with a great reward, for example, a beautiful body, a prosperous life script, etc. However, if you spread bad deeds you might be punished by blindness, an ugly body, or difficult living conditions.
Also, there is no sense to worry about the old memories and experiences as you will gather new ones in your new incarnation.
And as far as I know, the incarnation of human souls into animal bodies is no longer performed.
As for Tom's theory about the fragments of our souls, the easiest way to understand it is through the telecommunications theory.
In the early days of the telephone, there was only one conversation on one pair of wires. In other words, one high-frequency signal carried only one low-frequency signal.
At present, thanks to advanced technologies, one high-frequency signal is a carrier of thousands of audio conversations.
If we apply this model to our soul, where a soul is a high-frequency carrier and our physical bodies are low-frequency signals, then we can get an idea of how our soul can carry up to 600-800 lives at the same time.
However, Tom's breathtaking concept is too high for most people, at least for the Western world, since here most people, unfortunately, do not even believe in the soul, and also in reincarnation.

)I think I can answer it because I have a living proof with me.
My mother’s elder sister’s (masi) husband could remember his past life when he was just 3 years old.
Today, He is a reputed Orthopaedic Surgeon in Ludhiana, Punjab.
When he was 3 year old he would tell his parents about his past life.
He told them-
I used to live in a village in Gujarat. I died because of a disease. I want to go back to my family.
He told each and every detail- His past life parents name, His past life wife’s name, his occupation etc.
Then without telling him, his father went to that village out of curiosity and was shocked to know that each and every detail was correct.
He (his father) didn’t tell him about this and after some time, my uncle eventually forgot about it.
But his father told this incident to my uncle’s wife (my masi) and warned her to never ever talk to him (my uncle) about this as this will cause him severe depression.
Now it’s up to you to believe in it or not. But I believe in this.
Note- Uncle’s parents weren’t uneducated or the ones who would believe in anything without using their knowledge. They first went for the proof, after that only they believed in it.
Also there are many other incidents about Rebirth.
SOUL IS AN ENERGY. AND ENERGY CAN NEITHER BE CREATED NOR BE DESTROYED but Can be transferred from one medium to another.
Some of You won’t believe in it because it hasn’t happened with someone close to you. But that doesn’t mean its a fake thing.

The ideal proof of reincarnation is the law of conservation of energy.
We spend our whole lives learning, processing situations, solving problems, making decisions, etc. It is impossible to believe that all this huge energy potential disappears with the death of a person. It is more natural to think that the best energies slowly but steadily are collected in our soul, which will work as a carrier also for our next body.
Also I would like to add that there are plenty of proofs of the past lives.
The most famous "case" proving reincarnation is, perhaps, the experience of one of the greatest teachers of our planet - Gautama Buddha, who lived two and half thousands years ago.

He saw all his "countless" incarnations at the moment of his complete enlightenment. He saw his past lives in such detail as who he was in life and how he struggled in his attempt to find the path to full liberation.
Gautama was a real person, prince, who left a golden palace of his wealthy parents for the gaining a liberation from the materialistic world.

An especially big concern is Drunvalo’s aggressive promotion of the MerKaBa meditation and permission to his students to mix it with any other meditation technique which they practiced before.
Meditation
Practicing a serious meditation by myself I know well the teachers' warning about the danger of mixing the meditations.
We also have to be aware that western psychiatry won't be able to help in the case of "side-effect" of any meditation as it doesn't have the necessary knowledge.
Drunvalo Melchizedek
Multiplying this risk by Drunvalo's definition that "the brain (physical organ) is the mind ( intangible)“, you begin to question his real ability to successfully teach any meditation.
I also googled the “MerKaBa meditation Drunvalo Melchizedek”.
Resurrection or Ascension
The book was written in the 80s-90s, i.e. more than 30 years ago, translated to many languages, and was sold to thousands of people around the world in addition to the dedicated seminars.
That must be gathered huge statistics on results. As Drunvalo said it depends on you what you will choose - resurrection or ascension (;D). However, I didn't find anything except a 10-min YouTube video of someone with a chat.
Free Will
We have finally to knowledge that there are no magical short-cuts to the higher realm except the tool which was generously given to us by our Spiritual Father. This tool is our Free Will, for defining our Spiritual Direction (towards Light or Darkness or Degradation) and our Goals for gathering higher energetic potential which will allow us not only to enter the Higher Ẅorld but also to survive in it.
Spiritual Choices
This path of several incarnations with Spiritual Choices and culmination in ascension is entertainingly presented in my fictional novel "Redemption". The idea of the story was brought to me by my personal Heavenly Teacher on my quest for a new ambitious goal.

Invisible Worlds
In conclusion, there is no doubt that invisible matters and invisible worlds are difficult to prove, that the UFOs evidence is hidden by governments as they don't know what to do with that, that our consciousness is very low and it must be raised, therefore there is a need for people who are willing to talk about the spiritual.
Spiritual Philosophers
Unfortunately, our societies don't recognize the need for independent spiritual philosophers and don't pay them salaries, so sometimes the writers must do compromises and go for commercial success under the pressure of a publisher or an investor.
Paranormal Elements
Is Drunvalo Melchizedek one of them? We don't know. But his book can be also a great inspirational source whether for a sci-fi movie-maker, fantasy writer, or as a kick-off read for any inquisitive man keen on paranormal elements.

Heavenly Teachers
Each of us has a personal Heavenly Teacher*, that appears to us time by time. His main purpose is not to entertain us or himself, but to give us a hand for our spiritual growth.
Spiritual Contact
Unfortunately, the current consciousness of the human race is so low, that it doesn't allow everyone to recognize this spiritual contact - some of us mix it with intuition, others ignore it or simply scared to acknowledge it.
In his book "The Ancient Secret of THE FLOWER OF LIFE" (1985-1994) Drunvalo Melchizedek describes his spiritual teachers such as Thoth, his wife Maat as well a pair of Angels coming to him to reveal unknown.
Sacred Geometry
The book has two volumes, where the main topics are Sacred Geometry and Mer-Ka-Ba meditation.
The biggest PROS for the manuscript is the great enthusiasm of the author which is going on through the book. That definitely lifts up a reader from the everyday routine and gives inspiration for the unknown.
Seed of Life and Flower of Life
The Seed of Life and the Flower of Life as a part of the Sacred Geometry and the new-age meditation are indeed fascinating subjects to dig in.
There are also other paranormal things in the book which make it entertaining to read.
But there are also significant Cons in it.
One of the problems is a lack of structure - the manuscript looks like a yellow press sketch with hundreds of shallow developed topics, which hop in and hop out without too much explanation.
However, the bigger issue of the manuscript is the obsessive marketing of the themes described in it and the author himself.
Spiritual
For example, one of Drunvalo's biggest arguments for immediate spiritual practices is that we live in a time of rapid spiritual growth. He, unfortunately, doesn't specify what his conclusions are based on. However, the COVID-19 shows us an absence of any glimpse of spirituality on the Globe as during the pandemic no single political nor social leader turned to his people with the words whether about spiritual strength or God. And comparing this with 500 years ago epidemy in England well described in the TV-series "The Tudors", we can see a significant decline in the spirit.
Immortality
Or Drunvalo states that immortal Thoth came to him to learn Mer-Ka-Ba, as it's much easier meditation than he (Thoth) had been practiced before in order to carry on his immortality.
Inaccuracy is another problem of the writer.
Telepathy
For example, Drunvalo states that during one of the telepathic contact with Thoth he (Drunvalo Melchizedek) was translating Egyptian hieroglyphs to the human language (!). But anyone who experienced telepathy knows that all information is coming and going as a hologram picture where to see and feel much better and deeper than in the "normal" reality and that the alphabet as a low, logic transmission level is not needed at all.
God
God mentioned in the book only briefly and with kind of negligence. At a certain point, the author describes our Spiritual Father as an entity ( or the author says He could be several entities) in the physical body and with an irritated mind towards "his children”.
Angels
It is not clear why Drunvalo does not specify the main spiritual question of who our God is, for example, from his Heavenly teachers - Angels but applies to the questionable source of knowledge by Zecharia Sitchin.
Reincarnation
Drunvalo doesn't deny the reincarnation concept, but he prefers does not to talk about a "soul".
For instance, the author continuously calls the human race "we", whether he talks about the ancient times - 200 000,13 000 years ago, or about nowadays. But mankind on the Earth now is almost 8 billion. 200,000 years ago some of "us" were in the stage of flora, gathering spiritual energies as a tree or flower or even grass, others were animals and someone lived in the energetic form at the faraway galaxy.

Redemption. Excerpt Four

I'd like to present the fourth extract from my novel Redemption.
In this discussion, Rob explains to Ann which intangible values affected her Spiritual Choices in her first two lives.

“I don’t understand it, Rob,” said Ann as she stepped out of the shower.
“I had expected these nightmares to stop after going to the psychic. Several weeks have passed but - if anything - the dreams are more worrying than ever. It’s gotten worse instead of better.”
“That is all part of your journey, my lady,” Rob replied, looking out from the screen of the E-A device sitting by the sink.
“Consider the Buddha’s path from the golden palace to enlightenment or Jesus’ journey through the cross to the resurrection. The greater the destination, the harder the journey must be.”
Ann considered this while drying herself with a towel.
“I guess I can accept that,” she said eventually, “but from what I’ve seen on my two visits to the psychic, my - what did she call it? - My reincarnation chain has hardly been a series of victories. In my first life, I lost my son days after giving birth to him and ended up killing myself. And in the second I failed to save the woman I loved and died of a heart attack. I achieved nothing!”
“Nothing?” Rob raised an eyebrow at this and shook his head.
“But, my lady, sacrifice has always been a necessary part of the greatest journey.”
Ann stopped drying her hair to look questioningly at him. “Sacrifice?”
“Of course sacrifice! Or did you think you gave up those lives without reason?”
“Well…” she continued drying her hair as she tried to think. “Maybe,” she conceded. “But I didn’t really achieve anything. I didn’t get Wu back or save Alfreda. Even if I did sacrifice myself, what was it all for?”
“Answer this then: when you were living in the Stone Age, why did you die?”
Ann shrugged as she picked up the E-A device and headed back out into the bedroom. “Because I shoved a spear through my heart.”
She winced again at the memory that sharpened stick pushing into her body and placed a hand on her chest.
“No,” said Rob, now watching her from the bedside table. “That was how you died. I asked why.”
“Because that big murdering bastard was going to get me!” Ann jabbed crossly at the SmartHome screen on the wardrobe, selecting a red trouser suit.
A wooden panel slipped back and the requested suit slid out on a rail.
“And what was that ‘big, murdering bastard’ going to do with you?”
“I don’t know,” she said, pulling on the underwear that had appeared through another panel. “Rape me? Beat me? Keep me as a slave wife?”
“All of the above, no doubt. So why did you decide to kill yourself?”
“Well, it’s obvious, isn’t it? Death has to be preferable to such a life. I died for freedom.”
“For freedom!” Rob agreed. “And what about your death as the Roman priest?”
“Egyptian priest.”
“Indeed.”
“That was just a heart attack, wasn’t it?”
Rob sighed and gave her a long meaningful look as Ann pulled on her trousers and tucked in her blouse. “Again, that was how you died. Ask yourself why.”
“Because I had been running and pushed my body too hard?”
“Okay… and why had you been running?”
“To save Alfreda’s life, to rescue the woman I loved.”
“So why did you die? For what reason?”
Ann finished buttoning up her jacket and stood up straight, suddenly realizing what Rob was getting at. “I died for love.”
“Exactly!” said Rob with a beaming smile. “You sacrificed yourself for freedom and for love. That’s good karma right there, my lady, huge steps on the path to redemption.”
“Redemption?” Ann looked puzzled for a moment, trying to remember where she had heard that word recently.
“The psychic mentioned that at the end of our last session when she was going on about reincarnation chains and other weird stuff.”
“Perhaps it would be worth talking with her again and finding out what she meant?”
“I’m not so sure, Rob,” she said, picking up the device and walking towards the front door of her apartment. “My past lives might not have been pointless, but that doesn’t change the fact that my nightmares have gotten worse since I went to see that old woman. I don’t want to risk them getting even worse!”
“That’s entirely your choice, my lady. It is your life—your journey—and only you can make that decision.”
